Change duration of an activity

The duration is a property of the workflow item (activity). Change to the duration of the unfinished item immediately affects start/finish projections of the item and its successors. The duration is also used in recalculation of the plan.
To change the duration:

Set or change planned start or due date of an activity or of the workflow root

Plan of a workflow item is a pair of dates (including the time of day) defining expected start and finish of the item. Each date can be set independently, to any value:

Either of the dates (start or finish) can be omitted; the omitted date will not be changed.

Recalculate plan dates from certain point of the schedule

The plan of each workflow item can be set independently (i.e. change of one item's plan does not necessarily imply changes to the plan dates of other items). This gives most freedom to the project managers. However, in most practical cases, the desired plan corresponds to the sequence of activities in the workflow.
