Configuring Licenses

Configuring Licenses

The Application Server is designed to handle all licensing for the system by providing a specific number of concurrent user sessions in accordance with the active license limit. This eliminates the administration and maintenance required to assign individual serial numbers to each client application installed throughout your company. All serial numbers for the system can be found in the Certificate of License, available from the Customer Resource Center area of the MetaCommunications web site (www.meta-comm.com/customers/).

To add licenses in the Application Server Shell:

  1. Select Licenses from the Configuration menu. This will open the Licenses Setup window if it is not open, or bring it to the front if it is already open.
  2. To add a server access license, click the Servers folder tab and type the purchase date and serial number in the appropriate fields. Click Add to register the server access license in the Application Server and unlock it for use with the Microsoft SQL Server database.

  1. Repeat this step for each server license you have purchased for the system.

At this point, all client and server serial numbers have been registered and licensed in the Application Server program. This has unlocked each client application for use by a specific number of concurrent users.

To delete a license:

  1. Select the license in the list.
  2. Click Delete.
