Reviewing General Database Information

When you switch to the Database Monitoring and Maintenance snap-in for a particular database, the top of each tab displays general information about the database you have selected, including these database parameters:

Database Name—This is the name of the database you have selected in the list of databases attached to the snap-in.

Database Version—This is the version (for example, 1.2b67 (DSM)) of the database. This parameter also indicates the database family (“DSM” for Digital Storage Manager).

Database Size—For any particular database managed by MSDE, this value is displayed in red after it reaches 1.8 GB, as it cannot exceed 2 GB.
