Starting, Stopping, Pausing, Resuming, and Restarting the InterSync Services
By default, the File System and MetaData Services are set to start automatically when the Windows operating system starts up. However, it may be desirable to start, stop, pause, resume and/or restart the services manually. This can be done using either the Services snap-in or the corresponding services snap-ins (the File System or MetaData Service snap-in) of the MetaCommunications Management Console.
To start, stop, pause, resume or restart the InterSync services using the Services snap-in:
- In the tree portion of the MetaCommunications Management Console, click Services. A list of the services installed on the computer will be displayed in the right-hand portion of the console.
- Right-click the desired service name (“MetaCommunications File System Service” or “MetaCommunications MetaData Service”) in the list of services and select Start, Stop, Pause, Resume, or Restart. You may also select the desired service entry and click the appropriate button in the toolbar (
—Start/Resume,
—Stop,
—Pause,
—Restart).
To start, stop, pause, resume or restart the InterSync services using the corresponding snap-ins:
- Expand “MetaCommunications Services” in the tree portion of the MetaCommunications Management Console.
- Right-click the <Server_Name>.<Service_Name> entry (where <Service_Name> is either “File System Service” or “MetaData Service”), and select Start, Stop, Pause, Resume, or Restart. You may also select the desired snap-in entry and click the appropriate button on the toolbar (
—Start/Resume,
—Stop,
—Pause,
—Restart).
