Modifying Active Server Pages/File Property Information

The visual appearance of the web site may be modified through many of the image and .txt files the web server uses to build its graphical interface. System administrators who require additional control over the functionality of the Image Portal Web Server, however, can modify the Active Server Page (ASP) files that make up the system.

For example, ASP files may be modified to determine which database fields and information are displayed in the File Properties window for a digital resource. Modifying this type of ASP file would give users access to only a specified set of data about each digital resource viewed in the system.

The ASP files available for customization are located in the Inetpub\wwwroot\metacomm\skin directory.
