Enabling and Configuring Helper Applications

To use Helper Applications for Archiving and Retrieving, they first need to be enabled and configured. You can enable and configure Helper Applications for both Archiving and Retrieving. Also, different Helper Applications are available for archiving and retrieving to and from Tape and to and from CD/DVD media.

Note: Though helper applications may be configured when logged in to either the Windows or Mac OS X Digital Storage Manager desktop client, some helper applications are platform specific. This means that they will be available for use ONLY when logged in to the Digital Storage Manager desktop client for the corresponding operating system.
