Context Menu Commands in the Forms and Finds Window

The Forms and Finds window provides powerful context menu functionality to help you maintain your file cabinet.

The Context Menu is accessed by right-clicking an object in the left-side navigation pane of the Forms and Finds window. Depending on the selected object, a context menu will appear that provides you with a fast and effective way to perform common tasks.

The following context menu options are available for each element in the left-side navigation pane of the Forms and Finds window:

 

Folder Type Branch

Right-clicking a Folder Type branch in the Forms and Finds window reveals a context menu with the following options:

New Find - Create a new global find under the currently selected folder type. See “Creating Global Finds” on page 344 for additional methods.

New Form - Create a new form under the currently selected folder type. See “Creating Forms” on page 342 for additional methods.

New Notification - Create a new notification under the currently selected folder type (this option is not available in the Digital Resources folder type). See “Defining Notification Routines” on page 538 for additional methods.

Finds Branch

Right-clicking a Finds branch in the Forms and Finds window reveals a context menu with the following option:

New Find - Create a new global find in the currently selected finds branch. See “Creating Global Finds” on page 344 for additional methods.

Find

Right-clicking a Find in the Forms and Finds window reveals a context menu with the following options:

Delete - Delete the currently selected global find. See “Deleting Global Finds” on page 472 for additional methods.

New Find - Create a new global find in the corresponding finds branch. See “Creating Global Finds” on page 344 for additional methods.

Open - Open the selected global find in the global find editor.

Duplicate - Duplicate the currently selected global find in the corresponding finds branch. See “Duplicating Global Finds” on page 473 for additional methods.

Forms Branch

Right-clicking a Forms branch in the Forms and Finds window reveals a context menu with the following option:

New Form - Create a new form in the currently selected forms branch. See “Creating Forms” on page 342 for additional methods.

Form

Right-clicking a Form in the Forms and Finds window reveals a context menu with the following options:

Delete - Delete the currently selected form.

Open - Open the currently selected form in the form editor. See “To open a form in the Form Editor:” on page 409 for additional methods.

New Form - Create a new form in the same forms branch. See “Creating Forms” on page 342 for additional methods.

Notification Branch

Right-clicking a Notification branch in the Forms and Finds window reveals a context menu with the following option:

New Notification - Create a new notification in the currently selected notification branch. See “Defining Notification Routines” on page 538 for additional methods.

Note: Since notifications cannot be created for Digital Resources, there is no Notifications branch in the Digital Resources folder type.

Notification

Right-clicking a Notification in the Forms and Finds window reveals a context menu with the following options:

Delete - Delete the currently selected notification.

Duplicate - Duplicate the currently selected notification in the same notification branch.

New Notification - Create a new notification in the same notification branch. See “Defining Notification Routines” on page 538 for additional methods.

Note: Context menu options for notifications are not available in the Digital Resources folder type.

Groups Branch

Right-clicking a Groups branch in the File Cabinet window reveals a context menu with the following option:

Delete - Delete the currently selected group (user created only).

New Document Type - Create a new Document Type in the same Group. See “Creating Document Types” on page 343 for additional methods.

Document Type Branch

Right-clicking a Document Type branch in the File Cabinet window reveals a context menu with the following option:

Delete - Delete the currently selected document type (user created only)

New Document Type - Create a new Document Type in the same Group. See “Creating Document Types” on page 343 for additional methods.

New Find - Create a new global find under the currently selected folder type. See “Creating Global Finds” on page 354 for additional methods.

New Form - Create a new form under the currently selected folder type. See “Creating Forms” on page 352 for additional methods.

New Notification - Create a new notification under the currently selected folder type (this option is not available in the Digital Resources folder type). See “Defining Notification Routines” on page 538 for additional methods.
